JUDGMENT: a careful, discerning evaluation of how well one obeys or disobeys a charge (beneficial command) of God.
PUNISHMENT: visiting & addressing the results of a judgment, with an imposing of some loss, difficulty, pain (LDP), or death in response to a wrongdoing.
There are a lot of varying approaches and thoughts to the issues of judgment and punishment; it is definitely a charged topic. And so we wanted to carefully, comprehensively look into the picture the Bible paints about what it means for God to judge people, what role punishment plays in divine justice, and the implications of that for us followers of God.
